Neolithic Bullroarer „Riparo Gaban“

Reconstruction of a Neolithic bullroarer with zoomorphic incisions representing a fish. Among the Palaeolithic and Neolithic bullroarers this is a small specimen and its flittering sound is quite special. The use of the finding as bullroarer is probable, but there are also other possible uses. Similar objects used as bullroarers are known from ethnographical contexts from all over the world.

Palaeolithic Clarinet (Hohle Fels)

The remaining fragments of the find suggest a single-reed instrument with four or five fingerholes. The reconstruction is made from the wing bone of a volture, a protected species. For scientific purposes original volture bones can be obtained and provided with a CITES document. It is possible to produce 3D prints made on the basis of computertomographical scans of original volture bones.
