Terms and Conditions

To protect your own interests please read our terms and conditions carefully before accepting them. If you are uncertain as to your rights or want any explanation about our terms and conditions please write to us using the contact form.

COPYRIGHTS
All graphics, videos, soundfiles and other artwork (including the web design) is and remains the copyright of palaeophones – ancient musical instruments, although permission is granted to you to electronically copy and hard-copy print portions of our website for the sole purpose of placing an order, reading the terms and conditions with more ease or using this website for ordering. Any other use is strictly prohibited.
You shall not obtain any right of copyright (or similar rights) in your purchase, of which any unauthorised use including copying, letting for hire or sale is strictly prohibited.

PRICING
Our prices are composed of the artist/instrument makers’ fee and the standard postage fee from Germany to the given destination. We recommend parcel post insurance, which is subject to change and can only be calculatied when an order is placed.
All prices are given with VAT 19 %. If your country is outside the European Union, Value-Added Tax is not applied to your orders.
We reserve the right to alter prices to take into account forces beyond our control (e.g. currency fluctuations).

ORDERING
You may use the shopping cart and/or place an order by e-mail. Setting up an account is necessary in order to make a purchase. In case of most of the instruments featured in the gallery, orders can only be placed by e-mail or phone call. In this case, you are asked to provide the full account information (e.g. your personal data, full name and complete shipping address).
If you would like to amend or cancel your order, please phone or email us and we will try to help you as best we can. Please go to our Contact Us page for our details.
We will send you a confirmation of your orders to your e-mail address or may send invoices by e-mail. Apart from them, we will not send you any e-mails, unless you check a box to receive newsletters or other notifications. We use only e-mail for long-distance communication.

PAYMENT
Customers will be billed through e-mail. We will first send you the invoice via e-mail, and then the package after we have received your full payment.
Customers may pay with PayPal. You can use it to pay with most credit cards AND you don’t have to login or have a PayPal account. For more information on the PayPal service, click www.paypal.com.
Alternatively, you may use international money transfer through your bank. Notification about payment methods and bank details will be sent once that the order is placed.
Note that the customer is responsible for paying for the additional taxes and duties that may be applied to the ordered goods in the customs outside of the European Union. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel (this also applies to retail & wholesale customers). Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges, and cannot tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country. It might be a good idea to contact your local customs office for current charges before you order, so you are not surprised by charges you were not expecting.

PRODUCTION TIME
In case of most instruments featured in this gallery, the artist/instrument maker will only then start producing the item when an order is placed and, when indicated, a partial payment was transferred. The average production time is indicated for each item. Any changes regarding the production time will immediately be announced.

SHIPPING TIME
Shipping will take 1-2 weeks within Europe and 2-4 weeks outside Europe. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping companies.

RETURNS
You have the right to return the ordered item in 14 days after receiving it. If you are not happy with the purchased product and want to return it, please contact us. We will refund the money to your account after receiving the returned product. We reserve the right refusing to refund any goods, which are not returned in the condition they were sent. We are not responsible for any damage that may occur during shipping to the items you are returning. For your own protection, you may wish to send your return by insured parcel post or courier.
Please note: we are not responsible for any damage that may occur during delivering to the ordered items. We assure you that we will handle and pack the goods professionally, but if you like to have an insurance, which we recommend, contact us.
